Author and former Region 14 kindergarten teacher Peni Clark visited Bethlehem Elementary School students to share about writing books and following your dreams. Clark retired from Region 14 in 2020 after a 35-year teaching career and found her new niche – writing children’s picture books dedicated to encouraging, motivating, and empowering children to believe in themselves. 

Clark gave the students a look at how she wrote some of her books. She read “Heart Trouble for ZZ” to the pre-K to second-grade students. This true story is about her experiences with her own Golden Retriever who was diagnosed with a heart issue as a puppy. 

Clark also shared how she comes up with the ideas for her picture books and reinforced to students that they can do anything! Clark has authored two books, with three more to be released this fall. www.peniclark.com
