Fourth-grade students in the WYN period at Bethlehem Elementary School are utilizing math concepts for some impressive enrichment projects.

Students created their own Mondrian art using a grid and incorporating elements of area, prime numbers, fractions, and geometry. Students are also using fraction concepts for a “community planner” activity where each area of the community is a certain fraction of the whole.

These WYN periods – What You Need – are small-group sessions that provide students with the opportunity to receive what they need, whether it's enrichment, extra support, or intervention.
